The name LECO Industries has changed to Precision Precast, but our mission is the same: To provide our customers and community with precast products through advanced technology, precast techniques and superior design. From its beginnings in the mid-1970s until today, Precision Precast has been a family-owned and customer-centered business serving New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. We cherish our rich history and value the hard work by our employees that has ensured our steady growth and success over the years.
Precision Precast
Precision Precast traces its roots to the early-1970s, when Leon Morrow and his son Leo founded a construction company in Silver City, New Mexico. Leon was a construction worker and Leo had recently finished school and was ready to begin a new venture with his dad. They started making and installing the septic tanks in Silver City, then eventually gravitated toward excavation and construction work, founding M&M Construction. By the mid-1970s Leo’s brother Leonard joined the team full-time. They worked throughout the region and experienced the typical ups and downs of a fledgling company. Their work eventually led them to Las Cruces, where Leo decided to focus on precasting, while Leon and Leonard continued in construction.
Seeking to establish a solid customer base, Leo offered their services to El Paso Electric (EPE), Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC), and Elephant Butt Irrigation District (EBID). EPE and SBC needed concrete boxes for their electrical and telecommunication projects, so the Morrows built a set of forms, started supplying to EPE, SBC and later, to EBID. They also served a growing list of local contractors and other customers, and never looked back. By 1989, the company was firmly established in Las Cruces and throughout the region as Precision Precast. Growth continued throughout 1990s, as LECO Industries as the company continued to evolve, adding new products and growing their customer base.
Leo Morrow incorporated the company in 2002 as LECO Industries Inc. Leo’s son Kenny, the current owner, joined the company full-time in 1999, but Kenny was no stranger to the business. Like most kids growing up in the precast industry, Kenny worked at the plant weekends and summers, where he learned the finer points of precasting.
The company continued to evolve through the early 2000s, adding a third generation of the Morrow family when Kenny’s son Chad joined LECO Industries full-time. After Leo’s passing in 2023, the Morrow family decided to return to its roots, reviving the Precision Precast name in honor of their founder. As one of the significant producers of quality precast concrete in its region, Precision Precast serves customers in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas with a full range of underground infrastructure products, electrical utility products, and a wide range of above-ground products manufactured on state-of-the-art equipment by a dedicated team of hard-working employees.
